Egypt Says Rejects ‘Non-Arab Interference’ in Yemen

by : Yemen Details

Cairo rejects non-Arab meddling in Yemen’s internal affairs, Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly said during talks with his Yemeni counterpart Maeen Abdulmalik in Cairo.

The Egyptian PM confirmed deep-rooted Egyptian-Yemeni relations in all fields and full support to the president and the government of Yemen.

In a joint press conference with his Yemeni counterpart, Madbouly also praised Saudi efforts for stability in Yemen.

The Egyptian PM pointed out to the significance of Abdulmalik’s visit to Cairo, especially after Yemen demanded Egyptian reconstruction help.

Abdulmalik has confirmed that Yemen and Egypt have a united vision on the nature of dangers threatening the region and Arab national security in general.

“Yemeni and Egyptian security is linked,” he said.

The Yemeni PM said his country depends on Egypt for expertise, knowledge and the technical support needed for reconstructing a modern state.

"During our expanded talks, we discussed ties between the national Yemeni and Egyptian security, on the nature of the dangers threatening all of us and challenges facing Yemen," he said.

Abdulmalik added that talks also touched on peace and the Riyadh Agreement, which Yemenis rely on for achieving political stability.

“We also discussed the Iranian blatant interference in Yemen and its attempt to extend influence to Bab al-Mandab and the Red Sea,” he said.

The Yemeni PM thanked President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and the Egyptian government for their support to Yemen.
