Washington's Stark Warning: Support Houthis, Face U.S. Sanctions
Hodeidah Port
The United States said on wednesday it will not tolerate any nation or entity providing material support to foreign terrorist organizations, including the Houthis. Any offloading of ships or oil transfers at Houthi-controlled ports constitutes a potential violation of U.S. law and may result in sanctions.
On March 5, 2025, the U.S. State Department formally designated (the Houthis) as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO), fulfilling a critical national security priority of the Trump administration.
As mandated by Executive Order 14175, the Houthis' terrorist activities directly threaten: American lives in the Middle East, the security of our regional allies, and the free flow of international commerce through vital maritime routes.
