U.S. Unleashes Heavy Airstrikes on Houthi Militia in Yemen’s Capital and Beyond

by : Yemen Details

U.S. fighter jets carried out multiple airstrikes on Wednesday targeting Houthi militia positions, hideouts, and weapons storage facilities across three Yemeni provinces.

Military and field sources confirmed that the strikes, launched from the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier in the Red Sea, hit over 20 locations in and around the Houthi-held capital, Sanaa.

The raids focused on Houthi barracks and strongholds, including Al-Fardah camp in Nehm district, northeast of Sana’a, and Al-Sawad camp to the south. Approximately 12 airstrikes struck weapons depots and military sites at Al-Hafa camp on Mount Naqm, east of the capital—described as some of the most intense bombardments yet.

Another strike destroyed a Houthi communications network in Manakha district, west of Sanaa.

Further strikes targeted Houthi positions in Saada province’s Takhya district and Al-Jawf province’s Al-Hazm district. Meanwhile, local sources reported heavy U.S. aircraft presence over Ibb and Al-Dhale’ provinces, though no strikes were confirmed there.

Since March 15, the U.S. has escalated its air campaign against the Iran-backed Houthis, hitting leadership meetings, weapons caches, military workshops, missile launchers, and communication networks. Recent strikes have also struck underground tunnels and fortified Houthi positions, particularly in Saada and Sana’a.

The operations expanded to include Houthi defenses on Kamaran Island in the Red Sea, amid heightened military tensions off the coast of Al-Hudaydah in western Yemen.
