The Pentagon said Tuesday that the US approved a possible weapons sale to Egypt worth more than $900 million.
The State Department approved the sale of AN/TPS-78 Long Range Radar and other logistics for an estimated cost of $304 million.
The other sale would be for Fast Missile Craft Modernization for an estimated cost of $625 million. “This proposed sale will support US foreign policy and national security objectives by helping to improve the security of a friendly country that continues to be an important force for political stability and economic growth in the Middle East,” the Pentagon said.
It will also improve Egypt’s ability to meet current and future threats.
