Yemen's (P.T.C.O) Platform Reveals "The Houthis' Secret Financial Entities"
The Organized Crime and Money Laundering Tracking Platform (P.T.C.O Yemen) has revealed a new list of companies operating on behalf of the Iran-backed Houthis, as part of its series of reports focusing on the group's secret financial entities.
The list includes the names of 35 companies established by the Houthis as economic tools to amplify the group's influence and provide the necessary funding for their military and political schemes.
The list, which will be published in the second part of the report "The Houthis' Secret Financial Entities", details the names of the companies, their owners, and the sectors in which they operate, with the platform retaining their documents, highlighting the extent of Houthi infiltration in various vital economic sectors.
"These companies, which operate in critical sectors such as pharmaceuticals, oil derivatives, contracting, general trade, information technology, and education, are managed under a facade of fake legal cover, while most are run secretly, aimed at financing the group's military and political activities". The platform said.
Reports have shown that these companies, managed by individuals linked to the armed group, significantly contribute to controlling the local market and increasing the suffering of citizens through the monopolization of oil derivatives, medicines, and essential services.
"The establishment of these entities enables the Houthis to increase their financial resources, thereby enhancing their ability to finance the war and prolong the conflict in Yemen". The platform added.
This list is part of the accurate documents and data included in a series of ongoing reports that the platform is publishing, aimed at highlighting the extent of Houthi infiltration in the Yemeni economy.
The platform indicated that it will reveal more companies linked to the group in its upcoming reports.
Amid the ongoing war in Yemen, the Houthi group continues to pursue systematic policies to control the key aspects of the Yemeni economy by establishing a wide network of financial entities and companies operating in various activities and economic sectors. These entities enjoy all incentives and privileges, operating freely outside the scope of oversight and accountability, enabling them to generate profits estimated in billions of riyals and millions of dollars to enrich Houthi leaders, officials, and supervisors, and to finance the war against the Yemeni people and neighboring countries.
Yemen's (P.T.C.O) Platform warned that these economic entities pose a direct threat to the stability of the local market and exacerbate the suffering of citizens by controlling oil derivatives, medicines, and other essential services.
