Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron to Riyadh on Monday for a three-day state visit, during which the French leader will participate in the One Water Summit, a global forum focused on water sustainability efforts, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Macron’s itinerary includes a tour of the newly inaugurated Riyadh Metro, the backbone of the Saudi capital’s public transportation system, and a visit to AlUla, a UNESCO heritage site spotlighting cultural and historical preservation efforts, Al Arabiya reported.

Macron’s plane, escorted by Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft, landed at King Khalid International Airport, where he was received by senior officials, including Deputy Governor of Riyadh Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman and Minister of Commerce Majid Al-Kassabi, before being hosted by the Crown Prince at Al-Yamamah Palace for an official reception highlighting the visit’s significance.
