The Iran-backed Houthis killed Ahmed Ali Hassan Al-Hamzi, the commander of the Air Force and Air Defense, within the internal conflict between the group.

The Houthis announced the death of Al-Hamzi, who was included in the list of sanctions issued by the United Nations at the end of last year, but sources confirmed that his death came after escalating disputes.

The Houthi obituary statement simply said, "He passed away after suffering from illness," without disclosing the nature of the disease. The group usually announces the deaths of its leaders whom they have targeted for elimination.

The sudden death of Al-Hamzi has raised surprise among the general public and his acquaintances, especially since there were no previous signs of illness or any reported health problems.

In light of the multiple justifications and excuses, the Houthis have been carrying out systematic elimination operations among their supporters in recent times, killing most of the sheikhs who facilitated their entry into Sanaa, assassinating several individuals who were part of their political council.
